I did two stints as a freelancer, providing music-related content for The Riverfront Times and Sauce Magazine. It was a great way to keep my writing chops up and get (a few) good free discs (and lots of bad ones). It was fun and frustrating to write this stuff. As it's said, "writing about music is like dancing about architecture." And it's true; how do you adequately describe -- without sound -- the crushing weight of Page Hamilton's guitar....or the wandering lines of Bill Frisell's?
Anyway, I only have these old articles as clippings in a binder, so I thought I'd give them a digital home (y'know, so the Library of Congress can find them as needed). A work in progress, this will take a while. I'll either have to re-type them, or up-convert from excavated 3.5-inch discs, or whatever. You'll be thrilled, I'm sure.
